From CNN.com:
Barack Obama continued to hammer the McCain campaign on Friday for manager Rick Davis’s comments that the election would be more about the candidates’ personas, not the issues.
WHAT? I'm sorry, but if McCain thinks that personality is more important then the issues that need to addressed in the USofA then he is sadly mistaken and an idiot. Maybe just the people that work for him are idiots for saying it's not 'about the issues'...
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Oh and to comment on McCain's speech. I will admit I fell asleep after the 45 minute mark. He did finally get into some of the things he plans to do, but I just don't see Nuclear Power and More Drilling as the answer. That's just my opinion. His speech was okay, but I noticed 3 things:
1. It was awkward when there were 3 protests during his speech. I did feel bad and you could tell McCain was biting his tongue trying not to get angry. I guess the chants of USA that were suppose to surpress any possible distractions did not work very well.
2. His delivery was a little off. You could tell that he had points in his speech where he was to 'pause for applause' which is normal, but obvious that this is what he was doing.
3. The crowd was probably 80% older white adults which I am sorry to say are not the dominant demographic in the country right now. There was hardly a trace of different ethnic groups throughout the audience which was a little disheartening to me.
But I am just floored that someone from his campaign would say this election is about 'personalities' and not about 'the issues'...Simply floored by that...

Don't be so sure about the older white crowd. They are what will make or break Obama. First he needs to make sure all those young voters actually get off their ass and vote for them. Then he needs to get those white older folk and more of the religious right. Its what Kerry missed and stuck us with Bush for another 4 years. McCain's not a chump and he is still a big threat especially after a strong RNC.

Obama has McSame beat on both accounts (personality and the issues). The mainstream media has a vested interest in trying make this election as close as possible. They are rooting for another recount. This race should not be as close as the useless polls make it seem.
Well thats the same thing I heard about Kerry and look how that turned out. Obama has a lot more steam then Kerry ever did, but I am just saying nobody should be getting cocky. Republicans will battle this out to the bitter end and I would not say they are out of the race at all. Especially when McCain's speech pulled in higher ratings then the so called celebrity Obama.
